WINNER of Travel Advisory Platform of the Year 2024 / 2025

Apparently, giving people brutally honest travel advice, spiced up with bad jokes and a dash of chaos, pays off. I’m stoked (and slightly baffled) to announce that I’ve been named Travel Advisory Platform of the Year in the prestigious 2024 / 2025 Corporate Global Awards. This award recognizes companies and professionals who stand out by delivering results, offering exceptional service, and get this, using innovative approaches to improve their industry.

Now, if you’re thinking, “Wait, Scotty got an award for being innovative?” Yep, so did I. Somehow, between road-tripping across half the planet, dodging responsibilities, and sharing stories about cooking in a van, I managed to convince a panel of judges that I’m making a real impact in the world of travel.

The judging team took a deep dive into the work I’ve been doing, researching my platform, evaluating how I deliver value, and probably wondering how someone who openly admits he can’t keep his life together won an award. Their criteria? Service excellence, marketing, ethical practices, and industry recognition. And since I’m now writing this as an official award-winning adventure travel blogger, I guess I checked enough of those boxes.

But enough about the fancy stuff, let’s ham it up a bit, shall we? Winning this award feels a bit like when you accidentally pull off a perfect parallel park and then try to act like you do it all the time. Sure, I love what I do, but I didn’t exactly set out thinking I’d be winning anything. I just wanted to share the madness of my travels, like that time I got locked out of my van in my underwear or when I cooked dinner over a questionable campfire in the middle of nowhere. Turns out, being real about the ups, downs, and sideways detours of travel is exactly what people connect with.

So, what’s next? More chaos, obviously. More stories about getting lost, cooking weird meals on the road, and offering travel tips that come with a side of sarcasm. Because if winning this award has taught me anything, it’s that people like a good laugh almost as much as they like useful and useless advice. And if I can deliver both at the same time, then maybe, just maybe, I’ll deserve this trophy after all.
